In case you have to withdraw from a tour after it has begun for reasons such as illness, be sure to obtain a medical certificate in support of any insurance claim. We regret that we are not able to make refunds for absences from a tour, including but not limited to missed meals or sightseeing.Flight/ferry/train/bus tickets are not included in the above cancellation policy. Once your program is confirmed and the tickets are purchased, any changes to the dates of the program will incur a change fee or in case of cancellation (this is additional to the service fee), 100% cancellation fee for the tickets will be incurred regardless of the above cancellation policy.

When is the best time of year to visit Egypt?

The temperatures are quite high from May till October. Especialy in upper Egypt (Aswan,Luxor). If you travel in summer time, you can benefit from reasonable rates. Egypt will be less crowded in this period. It is an advantage visiting tourist sites without crowd of tourists. It,s peak season for Egypt from October till May. Weather will be pleasant and most hotels will be fully booked. It’s better if you make early bookings.

Are visas required for travel to Egypt?

Each traveller should be in possession of a valid, signed passport that will remain valid for at least six months beyond the completion of your trip. U.S. citizens do not require a visa for Egypt. They can obtain visa on arrival from Cairo Airport. Citizens of other countries should contact the Egypt Consulate or Embassy, on their country for specific details on visa requirements.

Should I purchase travel insurance?

We highly recommend travel insurance. Between missed connections, lost or delayed luggage, or medical emergencies, you want the peace of mind that your vacation investment is well protected. Insurance is also recommended to provide coverage to clients if refunds pursuant to the final payment and cancellation clause below are unavailable due to the terms of that clause. Do all hotels in Egypt have non smoking rooms?

All 5 star hotels have specific non smoking rooms; however some 4 star hotels do not have specific non-smoking rooms. If non-smoking rooms are requested, the hotels will be informed so that the rooms are cleaned to a non–smoking standard.

Is my driver license valid in Egypt?

You need an International Driver Licence in order to drive in Egypt. Minimum driver age required. All drivers of rented vehicles must hold an International valid Drivers license for at least 1 year prior to rental.

What clothing should I pack?

Informal clothing such as khakis, light denims and drip-dry cottons is appropriate. You may also bring a combination of shorts and long pants for your personal comfort. Even though you will probably be able to wear t-shirts or shirts on most summer nights, evenings may get relatively chilly and the wind may be strong, so a light jacket, windbreaker, or sweaters may come in handy. Lightweight or jogging shoes are recommended for walking as all tours include some walk to reach to the sights.

For entrance to the various churches and monasteries,mosques long pants (rather than shorts) are required for men, and a skirt or dress of at least knee-height is required for women (rather than short skirts, shorts, or pants). Women are also required to wear tops that cover their shoulders (a t-shirt, shirt, or sweat shirt would suffice). A hat, suntan lotion, and mosquito repellent are also recommended.

Are travelers cheques widely accepted in Egypt? Should I bring cash with me?

We do not recommend carrying an abundance of travelers cheques, since they are not widely accepted in Egypt. Some banks accept travelers cheques and some do not, and many restaurants do not. Additionally, you do not want to spend your valuable time in Egypt searching for the banks that do accept Travelers cheques.
Although credit card use is wide-spread for upscale shops and fancy restaurants. We recommend carrying a small cash balance with you upon departure from your country, withdrawing money in Egypt with your debit card, and always carrying some cash on you while in Egypt. There is an abundance of ATMs in Cairo. Consulting with your bank before your departure is recommended to ensure that you will be able to withdraw money from an ATM machine while in Egypt, and that no fees apply.

What is the permitted weight of luggage for domestic flights?

According to Egypt domestic flight 2005 standards the permitted weight per person for luggage is 44 pounds (20 kg). For carry-on luggage that is boarding the plane with you, the permitted weight is 17.6 (8 kg) pounds.

Will I be able to use my PC while in Egypt? Will I be able to access the internet while in Egypt?

If you choose to bring your lap top computer to Egypt, please remember that electricity in Egypt is supplied at 220 volts with sockets being of the two-pin European mainland variety. It’s advisable to pack an adaptor if planning to use personal items like mobile phone chargers. Almost all hotels have wireless internet access. In the rare occasions that you may not be able to access the internet via your own computer some hotels will have PC’s with internet access.

Additionally keep in mind that there are also plenty of internet cafes in Cairo, Aswan, Luxor, Sharm El Sheikh and Hurhada.

Please do not forget when calling home that Egypt is several hours ahead of US time depending on the specific state. Although you may call from the hotel please keep in mind that on occasion there may be a surcharge for calls made. The mobile phone operators in Egypt use a GSM network so if your cell phone is compatible you should be able to use your mobile phone while in Egypt through roaming.
